Workplane x UNIR

INDUSTRIAL DESIGN TRAINING

We have been collaborating closely with the International University of La Rioja (UNIR) for two seasons, providing students from the Master’s in Product Design and Development with a unique opportunity to undertake design internships at Workplane Design through real and challenging projects. Our collaboration not only enriches the students’ theoretical learning but also provides them with valuable practical experience in a professional environment.

In the first season, students worked on a variety of projects related to home and automotive scents. These projects included the design of dispensers, plug-in air fresheners and dispensers for personal hygiene. Each project was aimed at addressing specific market needs, allowing students to apply their knowledge in real situations and develop practical skills in product design and development.

In the second season, we take on a more complex and ambitious challenge: the exterior design of a line of SLS (selective laser sintering) 3D printers, which consists of three main modules: the printer, the parts cleaning module and the material recovery. This project not only required students to apply their creativity and technical skills, but also allowed them to explore the integration of different components and systems into a single cohesive product. Students had the opportunity to work as a team, tackle complex design problems, and find innovative solutions, all under the supervision and guidance of our Workplane Design experts.

We have successfully completed the second training course of the Master in Industrial Design at UNIR, and we are proud of the achievements made by the students during this time. At Workplane Design, we are dedicated to teaching students how to enter the world of industrial design, providing them with the tools and knowledge necessary to develop design projects from conceptualization to final implementation. Our approach focuses on innovation, functionality and aesthetics, ensuring that students not only gain technical skills but also a deep understanding of the design process.

It is a pleasure for us to continue collaborating with UNIR in the training of new industrial design professionals. We strongly believe in the importance of hands-on education and project-based learning, and we are committed to continuing to offer these opportunities to future designers. Our collaboration with UNIR is a testament to our commitment to excellence in education and professional development, and we are excited about what the future holds for us in this fruitful partnership.
