– Client: Teka Group
– Project Name: Hydroclean
– Year: 2011
– Target: Europe, Upper-middle class
– Description: Multifunction household oven.
– Services offered: Multidisciplinary team from the Workplane Design studio in Barcelona.
In visual design, the new iconography had to be integrated into the existing interface with the rest of the oven, with the technical limitation of only being able to use 4 colors on the screen at the same time. which also affected the screen for accessing the new function.
The graphic differentiation for when the product is displayed in store along with other ovens, we worked on the Steak Master functionality to have its own logo added to the door to connote that it is not a conventional Teka oven.
– Not having a product with the same characteristics on the market
– That the new functionality was very well integrated into the product.
– The display has a limitation of memory and colors, allowing only 4 colors at the same time counting black
– To create an in-store image that would stand out among the other furnaces on display.
– The awards it is reaping for its good design and innovation.
TEKA GROUP BEST INNOVATIVE PRODUCT 2020
– The good sales it is having.
– The good reception at specialized trade fairs.
– The satisfaction of seeing the finished product.
– The continuity with another product born from the same project.
– Designs for a new shooter.
– Proposals for retractable controls.
– Design of .
In the area of UX design and interaction, we were faced with the challenge of creating a touch display with a simple navigation interface that would also guide the user well in this new cleaning functionality.

How does Hydroclean work?
1.- When the oven is cold, pour a glass of water in the base of the oven. Select the Hydroclean® function to evaporate the water so that the condensation adheres to the oven walls. Wait 24 minutes.
2.- The steam generated and the Hydroclean® technology, make the grease and the remains of adhered dirt come off without any effort.
3.- At the end of the cycle, the oven cools down and allows easy removal of the remaining dirt from the interior, with a cloth and in total safety.
Hydroclean®, a glass of water, is all you need for cleaning, there is no need to go over the inside with any other product, thus achieving a perfect hygiene of the oven.
Main advantages Hydroclean
Energy saving: It has a shorter cleaning cycle and lower temperature than other cleaning systems. It only consumes 76 W/h.
Durability: The revolutionary Hydroclean® system is a coating that does not deteriorate over time and does not lose its cleanability.
Safety: Thanks to the COOL TOUCH SYSTEM, which allows a controlled door temperature of 60 °C, it avoids the risk of burns.
Lotus effect: Teka applies a unique enamel on the market based on the lotus flower, which ensures a better cleaning of the oven with water.
Hydroclean vs Pyrolysis system comparison
Innovation as a sales argument
At Teka, making life easier for end customers by providing practical utilities has always been one of its priorities when manufacturing new products, and this is demonstrated by its R+D+I department. They patented the HydroClean® system, an innovative cleaning system that surprised the market once again, as they were the only ovens that, thanks to the exclusive enamel that covers its entire interior and the power of steam, manage to facilitate the tedious task of cleaning the oven, facilitating this process with a simple glass of water, in a 100% natural and efficient way in just 24 minutes.
Teka Industrial has just introduced a range of ovens that can be cleaned with a glass of water in just 24 minutes. Called 'HL', they are equipped with 'Hydroclean' technology developed entirely in Spain. Compared to traditional foam or pyrolysis systems, the Hydroclean works with the oven in the cooling phase and a 300 ml glass of water is poured into the bottom of the appliance. Select the Hydroclean function and wait approximately 24 minutes. During this time the liquid evaporates, allowing grease and dirt adhering to the oven walls to be easily removed with a damp cloth.
The Hydroclean function, developed during a year at the group's facilities in Zaragoza, implies energy savings compared to other cleaning assistance technologies, since the temperature inside the oven barely exceeds 100ºC. The pyrolysis system requires heating the oven to 500 degrees to reduce the dirt to ash and lasts from an hour and a quarter, in the most efficient programs, to two and a half hours, with the consequent expenditure of energy.
In addition, by eliminating grease without using chemical products, a substantial improvement in environmental efficiency is achieved, since the discharge of harmful substances into the pipes is avoided, and a saving of space and money is achieved by dispensing with specific products for oven cleaning.
Teka has presented five models of ovens equipped with this development and they are 'HL 940', 'HL 890', 'HL 870', 'HL 840' and 'HKL 840'.
